We are working to add Fall arrivals to our online shop... it will be trickling in over the next few days. One of our favorite ensembles is this beautiful blue plaid cotton flannel shirt and skirt by Gallego Desportes. This is perfect for the transitioning weather and as it gets cooler, we would wear this with stockings and boots. We just love this blue plaid - and the cotton is soft and comfortable. Both pieces can be worn on their own with lots of different things, and we also really love them together. These can be seen in our wardrobe section. Navy corduroy pieces are up next!

We have just returned from a buying trip and are so happy to come back to packages waiting for us to unpack :) It was so great to be in person again - working with many of the designers we know and love - seeing faces, seeing pieces in person, trying them out, hearing stories, finding new lines and all the things that goes along with that. The experience is irreplaceable and we hope it can continue safely through the year. We will see! We cherished every second.
We are busy now unpacking all our new arrivals. So far we have unpacked more of the wonderful gingham napkins, Riess enamelware (yes, finally colanders are back!! We have been waiting about 6 months for these) and the beautiful waffle rib pieces in the photos above. The waffle rib tees and cardigans are made in Japan on rare vintage circular knitting machines. These machines allow the designer to combine waffle knit with rib knit, all the way around with no side seams. There are the cardigans above, long sleeve tees and turtlenecks. Each style comes in black and white. They are all great for wearing year round and especially in the transitioning months ahead. They are made of a substantial weight cotton - the texture and weight combine for a breathable, comfortable layer. We love the detailing around the neck and hems - a slight ruffle at the edges is so sweet. The cardigans and long sleeve tees are now in our wardrobe section. The turtlenecks will be coming soon :)

Happy Sunday! Sharing with you some layering ideas for cool evenings, and cooler days as the weather changes. Shown in the first photo is the wonderful striped cotton Peter Pan dress by Apuntob with the linen double-breasted coat by Fog Linen. Both pieces are stunning and work so nicely together. We love the navy and cream stripe with the black coat. We have one left in the dress- size large (it is at the bottom of our wardrobe section on sale). To the left of this dress form is our Peter Pan shirt in navy with the Apuntob silk/cotton skirt in light blue. In the second photo, we show the Apuntob indigo jacket with our square collar dress underneath - worn with a Pip Squeak Chapeau boy shirt in white. Blues, blacks, creams, whites... it is all so interchangeable! Also in these photos are wonderful straw bags that come in handy for just about everything. We use ours for the market, for picnics, as overnight bags and pool bags. We love versatility, and all the pieces above have that quality. Season into season, day into night, activity to activity... it's great to have pieces that can transition in all these ways!

Tucson incense and candles by Astier de Villatte have arrived back at the shop and are available again! We have restocked them in our gift section online. The Tucson scent was created after our friends from Astier came for a visit and absolutely loved Tucson. They were inspired from their experience here, to create a scent that rendered our city/town/desert. We all love it - it is truly a favorite... not only in our region, but around the world.
Their description of the scent is wonderful -
"Planted in the Arizona desert, surrounded by giant cactuses with amazing shapes, stands Tucson. Wander downtown, along streets lined by colourful houses. Crushed by the heat, take a break in the shadow of a mesquite, watered by a little glass of mezcal. Intoxicating scents of the Far West float in the air: lightly smokey and sweet aromas of wild grasses, parched wood, immortelle flowers, and red earth, burnt by the sun."
