a new photo series!

November 19, 2015 | 0 Comments

We are thrilled to share a new photo series with you! We shot this at Parker Canyon Lake which is about a half hour north of the Mexico border here in Arizona. It's incredibly beautiful in this area.

This series features clothing from the wonderful small lines we carry- Pip Squeak Chapeau, Makié, Repetto, Levi's Vintage Collection, Brahm's Mount, Fog Linen Work and a piece of our own from a tiny clothing line we are starting. This is the skirt with a narrow waistband, big open side pockets and below the knee length. We will be offering this in the Spring.

We were happy to work again with dear friends- photographer Kate Edmonson and model Genêt Klasek.

You can see the whole series here. We hope you enjoy looking!

new frazadas

We have a new batch of Bolivian frazadas- above are a few out of the stack :) We love the soft faded colors in the first one with the tiny black stripe… the contrast in that small detail is striking. There is something to say about each and every one, but that might take up a whole page- we'll let the pictures do the talking :) These are wonderful as throws and blankets or as rugs… perfect for this time of year as the weather is getting chilly!

If only you could see through the package! hehe :) We had fun drawing the interior of special packages… pretending to have XRAY vision. A cactus in one, in others- a pair of Repettos, a stack of latte bowls, a striped shirt, a mariachi ornament… and in the last- Astier de Villatte incense (one of our most favorite things to give this holiday season), a saguaro pen, a small John Derian plate, a tiny notebook and an antique celluloid duck figure. Presents are fun!

olive trees & hostess gifts

November 12, 2015 | 0 Comments

We have just put some beautiful small olive trees in the shop. These are great for the Thanksgiving table and also lovely to bring as a hostess gift. We love to bring a living plant to a party for the hostess- instead of cut flowers.  It's a gift that will get even more beautiful with time. The Coral and Tusk hand towels also make a really nice gift - we have holiday and every day towels with squirrels, foxes, bears… all kinds of sweet animals. The images are the artwork of artist and designer Stephanie Housley. Her images are embroidered on linen and made into all sorts of wonderful things- pillows, towels, cards and anything else Stephanie and her team dream up. Also shown in the picture are little jars of culinary lavender from Los Poblanos farm, John Derian plates and cement birds.
