Deb Achak, time capsule films

We had the pleasure recently, of meeting a lovely person and fast friend- Deb Achak. Deb is a photographer based in Seattle and she has begun making short films that capture the beauty of the everyday and family life. She recently asked Naïm about his song "Seulment Toi" for one of her new short films and he was so happy to be involved with her project.  This one was shot over a period of time on a family vacation in Tucson. a little bit about Deb in her own words-

"my photography expresses my love of visual storytelling and environmental portraiture. i photograph the subjects i am most passionate about: my family, our home, our travels, everyday beauty. and because the photographer is often absent from the frame, I endeavor to include myself in the memories i create, with self portraits and time capsule films.

through the medium of photography i have found that the simple and mundane can be eloquent and poetic. photography for me has become a path toward mindfulness and gratitude.

i am self-taught and continually learning.

i live with my husband and two sons in seattle, wa.

It seems as though almost every photoshoot we do, we end up including a skirt from Pip Squeak Chapeau and Repettos. Both of these have so many possibilities…. shirt tucked in, shirt out, with a tee shirt, with a button down, with a big voluminous top, with a tighter fitting one. Repettos as they are with no socks, with dainty striped socks, with big chunky socks… black Repettos, gold, ballet pink, navy, leather or suede… Repetto Ballerines, Repetto Zizis. There are several things in our shop that we don't veer away from, and these are two of them. Beautiful, simple, versatile… perfect and easy. We came across this photo again on our friend Kate Edmonson's site- it's from a shoot we did together a while back. It made us think of how long we have been carrying certain things (and different variations of these things) in our shop… and how much we love them. Hopefully they will be made for a long time to come!

our summer shop is now up!

Happy beginning of summer! We have just switched out our online shop with lots of great things for the warm (hot!) months. We kept travel in mind and put up lots of great clothing pieces that are easy to pack into a suitcase… and that also look good with a little extra rumpling. We thought also of summer parties and al fresco dining. We took our favorite color combination all the way here- you'll see lots of blue and white :) We hope you enjoy having a look!
