As we head into fall, perhaps a bit preemptively as is inevitable with all the wonderful new fall arrivals, we wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your continued support and camaraderie. We've had so many fun moments at the shop lately that have reminded us of our love for our shop - both in person and online. Not that we forgot... we are just coming back from summer (which is aways quiet here in the desert) and we're starting to see you all again <3 Perhaps also as the world goes more and more towards technological innovations (I won't name names), the human interactions and community seem to be more and more precious... although we don't want it to be precious, we want it to be normal! We try as much as we can to apply what we feel in our actual shop to what we do online as well, and after all these years we still consider ourselves super lucky to have the most incredible clients and friends that have not only come by in person, but also have visited through our online shop. Aw, thank you for being here! My mom and I have been doing this for now going on 23 years, what a gift. It's interesting to watch the trends of business with many years under our belts... and I know that what still drives us is a pure interest and passion for beautiful, well made things. Sometimes they surprise, sometimes they are completely classic... sometime they are both. Sometimes they are sparkly, sometimes organic and rustic... it's a connection to something that is beautifully made and something that has a spark. We feel it when we see it and touch it. The hunt is never-ending and that part of what we do has its own incredible joy and fun... and irresistible gravitational pull. We are grateful for it all. You are the reason we can keep doing this each and every day. There's been a renewed interest in and reporting of small independent shops which is so wonderful. For us it's not a momentary thing, it's a dedication and true love. We're very excited for The Shopkeeper's Paula Flynn's book coming out this Fall, focused on her finds of the most beautiful stores in the world. Paula was really the first to consistently promote independent shops, so her many years of expertise and experience will culminate in a very special book, we are sure of it! We'll have it at the shop as it's released. The new season is upon us, at least in our air conditioned shop with flurries of wool, cashmere, chocolate browns, charcoal greys... it's so fun! The real fall will come soon enough <3 We hope you all enjoy the last days of summer, and thank you again - you are a big part of our thoughts, we <3 you!
