Another wonderful painting by Graham Mears. This one is not in our online shop, but available by phone or email <3  Graham's "Stubbs" collection (of which this piece is a part of) is named after George Stubbs - an English self-trained painter best known for his paintings of horses. new works by Graham Mears

August 03, 2020 | 0 Comments

We have just received new works by artist Graham Mears and we couldn't be more excited about them. Graham's interests of classical painting, modernism and folk art come through in his poured paintings - where the subject matter becomes pointedly abstract through the marbleizing of the paint. Graham uses "goof" paint - mistint wall paint from the hardware store. He likes the relationship to house painting - color that relates directly to home interiors. His work really speaks to us as the historical styles are felt strongly - coming through in a modern way. You can see and read more in our home section - where we have made them available. They are truly special!

New Frazadas!

July 31, 2020 | 0 Comments

We love these incredible vintage Bolivian frazadas! We have just added a new batch to our online shop - home section. These are so beautiful in their rich color and texture - they bring so much to an interior. We love to use these over the back of a couch, at the end of a bed with white bedding, and as rugs throughout the house. They are durable and versatile. I have had one in my house as a rug for over 10 years and it looks just as beautiful now as when I first got it. Part of what makes the color so wonderful is their age - this softens the hues and brings out different variations in color. Each piece is one of a kind <3 We hope you enjoy looking!

We just received the most wonderful smock shirts and dresses from Ichi Antiquités in the most beautiful denim blue. These pieces are so versatile and can be worn year round. We love the dress with sandals, and we can also see it with wool stockings or over rigid denim 501's and a white shirt. The dress can also be worn as a light overcoat because it buttons all the way down. We immediately thought of French artist smocks when unpacking these. They are made of a beautiful substantial linen that has a lofty feel. The fit is oversized on both pieces, making them comfortable and elegant. We love these new pieces! They are now in our online shop :)

We have begun to receive beautiful new pieces for the change in season! It is the time of year when we start to dream of Fall! We have added these new pieces to our online shop - and we are sharing a few of them here. The first photo is a dress by Gallego Desportes. This has the most incredible feel to it and the color is out  of this world! It is a bit hard to capture how special the fabric is in a photo because a big part of the quality is how it softly reflects the light in person. It is made of a viscose twill that has a slinky feel. The golden/ochre color is really beautiful. There is also a wonderful button up shirt in this same color and fabric. It looks great out or tucked into jeans or trousers. This fabric also comes in navy bue - the shirt is also available in this color with a matching elastic waist skirt. The second photo is of some incredible socks we found on our last buying trip. They are so fun and come in a variety of pattern pairs. They are sold as a set of two pairs that can be layered or worn separately. One set has pansies, one has polkadots... and there are two plaid versions, one of which is in the photo above. The third photo is of a wonderful cotton plaid shirt. We love plaid and are always on the hunt for it for Fall. The feel of this is soft and comfortable. We love this shirt with jeans! The last photo shows a handmade crochet bag by Maria La Rosa. There are four color options - all in wonderful metallic hues!

You can see more in our wardrobe section in our online shop - we hope you enjoy looking!
