Beautiful pieces by Astier de VIllatte + John Derian - they make such wonderful gifts as they are so fun to receive! Did you know that each Astier piece has an AV stamp on the bottom and below that there are other initials. Those are the initials of the person who actually crafted that piece. Astier employs all Tibetan refugees, and this small team makes each piece by hand. Each craftsman stamps their initials to indicate the pieces they created. The beauty of Astier de Villatte is the feel of the hand that comes through the pieces - no two are alike, and the amazing craftsmen making them all have their own unique styles and differences. The scene in the workshop is quite special - a small group sitting around a couple of wood tables, creating each piece with all its intricacies and details. We visited a couple years ago and we will never forget the experience - the care and attention was felt in the air. When we receive our packages from Astier, the memories of the workshop become present again - and we know what it took to make everything in our package. We are then so happy to share it all with you!

We have just added a collection of chemises de nuit to our wardrobe section online. We have a longtime love for these beautiful pieces that were originally intended for nightwear. We wear them as dresses and love to layer them with a shirt or sweater underneath, socks and Repetto zizi's. They are so special - with all their beautiful details, the incredible quality of the linen and their easy shapes. We are always on the hunt for these and are happy to bring you this collection. And shown above is also the Maria la Rosa red socks with white repettos... this combination would look wonderful with a chemise de nuit :)

Paintings by Graham Mears
New works by Graham Mears have been added to our home section online :) We love Graham's work - his pieces feel to us almost like the time warp your mind jumps into to envision his historical references. The modern abstraction, and the pointed realistic detail - a combination that creates such a vivid narrative. Most of the paintings we added are part of his "Stubbs" series - in reference to 18th century painter George Stubbs. They are wonderful ~ you can see more about the pieces and Graham in our online shop :)
