Samuel Snider's beautiful fall collection has arrived! Sam has used beautiful wool and baby alpaca from Donegal, Ireland in two different weaves and colorways for various jackets and pants. The feel is super soft and cozy. The Paul Jacket and Workhorse Trousers in midnight are a stunning combination. The blue is rich in all it's wonderful texture. The style of this jacket is relaxed and easy - the perfect piece for daily wear! The trousers are beautiful with a flat front and straight cut on the leg. The back has two pockets with flaps. They are very flattering on. The Fetherston Jacket and Pleated Pants in espresso are also a beautiful set. The jacket is a continuation of the same style that was so loved in the spring. It has a beautiful, tailored fit with a button at the top of the collar that you can wear buttoned up. The matching pants have the most wonderful, relaxed fit with a high rise, pleats and plenty of room in the leg. And to top it all off, the Scottish lambswool sweaters bring the most beautiful color combinations to everything. We love their fit - not oversized, not fitted... the perfect in between. And a mockneck is always elegant in framing the face. All these pieces work beautifully independently, and they're fun in combination as well. Sam cares about the inside as much as the outside, so we include some interior photos in our wardrobe section. And as a side note, we have added one size bigger - size 4 - in our range for this collection. Size 4 is similar to a women's xl. Lars Andersson Merino crewnecks <3 The first one is a ribbed crewneck with shaping in the body - meant to hug the body with a close fit without being tight. This is lovely and makes a great layering piece. The second one is a cropped crewneck with ribbing at the hem, cuffs and neckline. This is great with high-waisted skirts and pants. These two styles come in both navy and charcoal. The Merino is super soft and comfy. We can't recommend them enough <3 Jettie wears them with the Pas de Calais Slub Denim Pants <3

We are back at the shop after a very inspiring trip to Paris. We had a quick stop in New York on the way to visit some of our favorite clothing designers and see their collections for spring. And then off across the ocean to visit the one and only Astier de Villatte and to search for other decoration/objects/home collections as well. What fun and what a success it was. We are very excited by what we have found, by what small makers are doing and by the conversations we got to have about all the change and interesting things going on in our industry and shop world. It boils down to the fact that the independent designers and makers are where it's at. I think this has always been the case, but especially right now when there is so much change with bigger names and a sort of flattening of personality and character in our culture... the smaller, independent designers are the ones really pushing the envelope. And only naturally because of the true love and care they put into what they make. Paying close attention to every tiny step of their processes, the hand/s involved, the obsession with beautiful design, the list goes on. We received a few booklets from designers dedicated solely to their choice of fabrics - where each one comes from, why they were chosen, how they feel... what makes them special. It feels like a growing contrast right now to the rest of what's out there and we couldn't be more thrilled with what we see coming from this world of incredible designers and makers.
So now we are back to our daily shop endeavors, getting ready to bring you some new beautiful pieces soon. Also sharing great small collections from both Nicholson & Nicholson and JUD above, photographed on our friend Heather. The pants from Nicholson and Nicholson fit beautifully. They are very flattering with a high rise, flat front and straight leg. They come in a navy cotton as well as a brown corduroy. The brown shirt in the first and fourth pics is so lovely - it's light as air, yet crisp and structured. It's great for the season because you can easily layer over it and it doesn’t feel bulky. An element we love when bundling up in colder weather. The jacket in the third photo is a beautiful continuation of this style - we had it last fall in tan. The navy is great with a back corduroy collar. And the gorgeous hand-knit sweater by JUD feels incredible. It's made of a silk and wool combination that has a lovely texture and super soft hand. It's a great moment for scarves! We have received these beautiful cashmere polkadot and solid cashmere scarves that are lightweight and airy. These are our favorite for adding close warmth at the neck - you can wrap them twice without them being bulky. If it's really cold, you can add another scarf on top as a layer. I have one of these from when we carried different colors a couple years back - it's so versatile and it keeps me warm without feeling like I'm wearing a heavy scarf. Restaurants, chilly flights, cool fall days... there are so many occasions where this style and size really comes in handy. And this year, all these fun colors really have us excited!
