There is a special world of colorful wonders and unexpected moments - the world of Nong Rak (young love in Thai), a design and vintage studio created by our friends Cherry and Home Phuanfeuang. We have wanted these two original minds to interpret, play with and imagine an atmosphere around our own small clothing line- and the time came this summer when we sent our pieces off on a trip to visit them. We sent the box and they created magical lands around our pieces. When we received the photos, it felt like pulling the ribbon off a present- as the contents were completely unknown and a wonderful surprise. Opening them one by one was hugely exciting and we love what they created. Cherry and Home mixed in special pieces from Nong Rak- like the 1960's Chinese butterfly kite above, and others we will share as we post more pictures. Thank you for looking- we hope you enjoy!!  <3

To keep up with Nong Rak, you can follow their instagram feed-  @nongrakvintage

Also, we want to thank you - our friends, clients and collaborators - for your support of our collection. We have been overwhelmed by your enthusiasm, kind words, and orders <3 We hold all of that very close to us - it means so much. We see it as an evolving project of different parts, always open to new explorations. Love to you all!!!

What Color Is The Wind?

August 28, 2018 | 0 Comments

We are very happy campers when our children's book selection is brimming with incredibly beautiful books that ask important questions like "What color is the wind"... and teach us how to write and continue writing if our "mind and heart go blank"... stories that lead us only by pictures, requiring our imagination to make up all the details not written... poetic explorations of nonfiction worlds that help us get a bit more excited by all the facts... books about shapes- one in particular called "The Wing On A Flea" !! - in which we can learn that a triangle is an admiral's hat or a bandit's bandanna. The world opens up and takes us way in these magical lands existing under the cover. We say us, because we include ourselves in the captive audience enjoying and treasuring these special books.

Astier de Villatte

My mom and I spent a morning at her house playing with our new pieces from Astier de Villatte. The leaves on her fig tree had started to turn every beautiful color of Autumn, so we added them to our arrangements to initiate the feeling of Fall. We received tea pots, pitchers, tea cups, coffee cups, tiny dishes and wonderful incense holders. Oh the world of Astier is a magnificent one! We love all these pieces with our favorite gingham patterns <3 There are more pictures on our instagram- bontucson :)

Some of our clothing pieces and an Eliurpi black hat worn by our friend Isolde. These photos began with thoughts of a project with my partner (not at the shop, but in life)- Naïm Amor. We were listening to one of his albums one evening- The Western Suite and Siesta Songs - this is an album that he did in collaboration with John Convertino. It has both their unique styles intertwined, with the overlying feeling of the vast, open, wide space of the desert. A little bit of the wildness of the west as well. We were listening, talking and imagining this song really playing out in the space it resonated with. Thus came the moment to make some initial impressions of the imagery we were imagining... that would later turn into movement. There is more to come, but we share these photos with you now- as they really feel like this very hot moment. Our long summer that really gets intense in the month of August.
