Oh Spring colors! Don't they just make you happy!? We just received our favorite candles in all the beautiful Easter egg hues above. These look so pretty on the table... either a bunch of different colors mixed with all white dishes (also with blue and white)... or one special color mixed with anything! We absolutely love the hand painted flower glasses, the blue and white napkins, Astier dishes and the candles all mixed together. <3

- these colors might be showing better on our instagram :) they are so rich and lovely- I am not sure they are showing properly here.

Blue and white always attracts us... it's a color combination that can be mixed with almost anything. We love different patterns of blue and white... mixed with Astier de Villatte ceramics and the sweet little hand painted flower glasses shown above. This together makes for a beautiful Springtime table.

So many lovely things are filling the shop. Our friend Julia just brought us a new batch of her tea cups of all shapes and sizes. We love these - they have so much character. Julia is so creative and talented as an amazing cook, gardener, maker... adventurer... and as of a couple year ago, a ceramicist. She makes these beautiful little cups- each with their own individuality. We just love them! The cups are shown here with wonderful gingham napkins in grey, new handprinted napkins with strawberries, figs, pomegranates and flowers, and a variety of other textiles that make great tablecloths, dish cloths, runners (we also wear them as scarves).  Also shown are some wooden spoons, a small grass broom (great for crumbs), hand painted flower glasses and hand blown glasses with a white rim around the top.

It is so fun to play with color.... and it's so exciting when you discover a magical combination. We were just rearranging as we were putting out new things and this pillow and throw caught our eye from two different areas of the shop. We love the soft pink cotton throw picking up the pink/lavender in the pillow.

Dive into the conscience of a spoon collector with the book SPOON by Daniel Rozensztroch- page after page of beautiful pictures of spoons made of glass, wood, metal, mother of pearl, bone, horn, ceramic.... enamel, porcelain.... from far flung places and those close to home, from flea markets around the world to those from contemporary designers including Ted Muehling. It is fascintating to look at continual images of the same thing, only they're not the same. It's interesting to think of the hands that made each one, why someone would use metal vs. wood or enamel vs. ceramic, the different shapes and their uses. It's beautiful and inspiring. We show a few pages of the book above with some pieces from of our own spoon collection at the shop. We have just received a few new ones including the giant slotted spoon and the tiny tasting spoons.
